June 2019 update

3rd June 2019

Sell in May and go away? In 2018 that strategy would have worked quite well given 22 May 2018 remains the most recent all time high of the FTSE 100. As ever, the challenge of timing the market is knowing when to buy back. Our investment commentary explains more about how mis-timing the market can seriously damage your returns.

As well as our normal work in May we have seen a spike in enquiries owing to:

  1.  The issue of Costs & Charges disclosure documents for the first time, particularly relating to Aegon, formerly Cofunds;
  2.  The decision of Aegon and Legal & General to remove Legal & General products from the Aegon platform;
  3.  Forthcoming changes to the investment aims of the Prudential PruFund Cautious.

You can read more about 2 & 3 in our Fund Bulletin, and we sent out information in March 2019 to all clients concerning item 1.
